Lewis Pugh was born 1680 in North Wales, and died 1741 in Dolgelly, Merionethshire, Wales.
He married Ann Webster 1703 in Parish, Richmond, She was born 1680 in Old Rappahannock, Richmond, Virginia and died 1740 in Richmond. Lewis Pugh appears to be the first of are blood line to come to America, he moved back to Wales to except inheritance claims left to him by his father David Pugh, where he past away not before leaving behind a sizable family,He left his wife and children in the U.S. with the exception of John Pugh he went with him. David Pugh was sent to Wales by the power of his mother to claim his fathers inheritance later but never returned to the United States.
1. John Pugh, b. 29 April 1704, N. Farnham Parish Richmond Co.Va. died in Wales, he went to Wales with his father to claim his fathers inheritance, he married a Martha Landrum.
2. David Pugh,b. 25 December 1706, N. Franham Parish Richmond Co. Va.It was said by Ann that David aswell went to Wales and died there he was never heard of again.
3. Elizabeth Pugh, b. 19 March 1708, N. Franham Parish Richmond Co. Va.married William Landman he was born 1689 in Richmond and died 1727 in Wise, Co. Va.
4. Henry Pugh, b. 02 March 1710, N. Franham Parish Richmond Co. Va.
5. Willoughby Pugh, b. 03 May 1711, N. Franham Parish Richmond Co. Va. d. 05 April 1790, Cubb Creek, Charlotte Co., Va.
6. Ann Pugh, b. 14 November 1715, N. Franham Parish Richmond.
7. Lewis Pugh, b. 02 March 1718, N. Franham Parish Richmond.

Ibid, page 128, 1 September 1740- Power of attorney from Ann Pugh, Widow- William Landman - Henry Pugh - Willoughby Pugh - Henry Headly and Lewis Pugh, of the COUNTY OF RICHMOND, COUNTY OF VIRGINIA- appointing our well beloved David Pugh, of the County of Lancaster, in said Colony to demand and receive for us from the executors of Lewis Pugh, formerly of Virginia aforesaid, but late of some part of South Wales in the Kingdom of Great Britian, deceased- all such sums of money, good, chattels, etc. or other estate due and owing the aforsaid Ann Pugh, as her dower or thirds of the said deceaed's estate and to the aforesaid William Landman-
Ibid, page129, Deposition of Ann Pugh, widow of Lewis Pugh, LATE OF THE COUNTY OF RICHMOND, COLONY OF VIRGINIA, aged 60 years or there abouts (thus born ca 1680) that on or about the year 1704 she was lawfully married to the aforesaid Lewis Pugh and has had by him seven children ( to wit ) - John-David-Elizabeth- Henry- Willoughby- Ann and Lewis (Pugh) and that about the year 1731 her aforesiad husband recieving intelligance from his brother - in - law, Benjamin Jone, of North Wales, in the Kingdom of Great Britain, and Elizabeth(his sister) of an estate, both real and personal, lying in South Wales, in Great Britain, had descended to him from David Pugh, father of the said deceased Lewis Pugh, went to England and took with him his son, John Pugh and they sailed out of Rappahannock River in Virginia in the month of April 1731 on board Captain Loxam for Liverpoole and that this deponent hath been lately advised that her husband is dead in South Wales and together with her aforesaid five children, Elizabeth, now wife of William Landrum- Ann now wife of Henry Headly- Henry- Willoughby and Lewis (Pugh) have impowered her aforsaid son, David Pugh, to go over to Great Britain and receive what is due to them for their parts of the estate of her deceased husband's estate- and futher saith not. Sworn to 1 September 1740 and ordered to be recorded.
